change it out and flush out your lines, you will need to replace it or risk damage to your steering box or pump

You run the risk of clogging the power steering pump and lines, oil isn't the same as the version of power steering fluid it is different viscosity and residue. You need to have a shop flush it.

The weird part is I don't remember if I did or not put the oil into the power steering area...so I am not sure if I did or not.

Won't hurt much, might dirty up quick because of the detergents in it..... I'd use the tried and true turkey baster method, every few days get out there and suck out as much as you can and replace it with the correct fluid..... has to be done anyway to insure the pump lasts.

well they are both oil based but if I were you I would have the system flushed before it damages the pump and rack and pinion seals
