No one is Completely Liberal or Completely Conservative, It depends on the issue at hand.. There are some things I'm liberal about and some things i am conservative about
But I do think that being liberal is a form of Socialism /Communism

realist and i want the best both sides offer.WE need a moral high ground that is developed from a sense that all men are created equal .that the GOD of the universe is loving and kind and does not want man to kill his brother .
THIS means an end to all war and hostility everywhere and the removal of all weapons desigened to harm mankind .WE do not go hunting quail with an elephant gun or assalt rifle so we just do not need these kinds of weapons at all.TODay we do not even need to hunt .IF you want real excitement hang out with chenney in a field for a few hours and tell me he needs a weapon in his hands .
I do not beleive in wasting what man has grown or produced and the real reward is in the doing of a thing and not how much you can manage to attain for ones own personnel use .
A man with ten cars is not a good man .BUT a man with one who shares is .
A MAN with three homes has nothing
BUT a man who opens his home has everything .this is not conservative or liberal but what is right
A man with a basket of corn has nothing
a man who feeds his neighbor everything .so
So do we do what we should all the time and does this create problems yes .GREED has become mans worst horror and the cause of so much of his pain .

I guess I'd be considered a liberal because of my views, but I don't think of myself as one, truly. Don't judge me saying how liberalism has failed at all it does, etc, (conservatism fails just as much yes), I am not saying I agree with a liberal GOVERNING BODY, which I think would have trouble existing in the world the way it is now, but I consider myself liberally inclined. I guess you could call me a 'good-(as in morally good)-reasoning person that is tolerant to many of the differences in our species'. I personally think governments work best when they kind of do what ours does, but does it right, and does not lie about anything. People have all these dreams of how a country should be run, but a lot of those dreams are unimaginably difficult to execute, even discounting the greedy power hungry people that get swept into power.

Very Liberal -
Even though liberalism hasn't accomplished anything:
End of Slavery (don't give party of Lincoln, there's been an idealogical switch in the partys)
Civil Rights Movement
Gay and Lesbian Freedom
Unions - 40 hour week, benefits
The new deal
Sent a man to the moon with liberals in control
Most medical advances
Most literature
Theater
Movies
Women's right to vote
National Health insurance in many places
.....

I lean more towards Conservative beliefs, mostly involving abortion because I am so strongly against it. This is because, when I was a little younger, I realized how easily my parents could have decided to abort me. My mom was only 17 and my dad almost 18 when my mom became pregnant. They began living together and supporting themselves (and me, after I came along) shortly after that. Whenever one of my close friends questions me about why I am so strongly against abortion, I always tell them this, and although I don't know if it has changed any of their minds about abortion, it certainly gives them something to think about.
Sometimes, though, I do side with the Liberals. When it comes to the subject if gay marriage and rights, I definitely do because one of my best friends is gay. In choosing a leader for the country, though, I pretty much always go with Conservative.

I am conservative, and college educated, however conservative intellectuals aren't pompous like "pseudo_obscure" there who boast that it is because s/he is educated that s/he is liberal. Just goes to show that liberals think they are better than everyone else.
And by the way, those who claim that they are "independent" just don't know what they're talking about. If they did it would be easy to take a position.

I am a conservative because I am self sufficient. I do not expect the government to fund my education, my retirement, or my health care. I don't expect the government to tell me what to eat, what to think or where to pray. I rely on my self and God for what I have. Someone said she was a Liberal because she is college educated well going to school doesn't make you smart any more than living in a garage makes you a Buick.

Liberal because I feel very strongly about the rights of individuals. Conservatives generally feel stronger about protecting "the group," somewhat at the expense of individual rights and freedoms. Nothing wrong with either point of view. I think it's important that we have both.

More on the Liberal side, since most conversations seem to end with conservatives eventually saying they are self-sufficient and don't need to government to take their money to help others.
Helping other people less fortunate to me is righteous and happens to be the very ideals preached by every monotheistic and polytheistic religion. Also they seem to be the ideals of all the great peacemakers and philanthropists.
