Insert your Windows XP CD. Then when you reboot your computer, follow the directions until you get to the area that asks whether you want to create a partition. Erase the old partition and reformat the hard drive. Then it will reboot and then start installing Windows XP onto your computer.

If your computer wants to boot from your A:\ drive, which is your floppy drive, then you need to go into the BIOS and change the boot up drive order to boot up from the CD-ROM drive first. To do this, press and hold one of the F keys or the Delete key on your keyboard, when the computer is just beginning to boot. On mine it's the Delete key.

Good luck.

If you really don't mind losing all your files, then a complete system formatting is the answer. Be careful when you do this though. OR, you could uninstall useless programs first, AND run a quality virus scanner, as well as a spybot catcher/remover. Do those before reaching to the solution of a wipeout.

you can try going to start
then all programs
then accessories
system tools
then system restore
this will take you back to what your computer was like on a previous date.
but anything and everything that you recently added will be deleted
pictures, files, music, everything. this might not be what you want.

you can also go to start-all programs-accessories-system tools-
and try the disk defragmenter
and disk cleanup.
these just get rid of unused files and free up some space on your computer.

Purchase a good anti-virus program such as Norton, and a good anti-malware program . I recommend Ewido for the anti-malware. IT WORKS. You should also consider having your system re-formatted. If you've had your system more than 2 years, it would be a good idea. If you are not computer-savvy, you should have it done professionally. Hallsie

Hey there. If you have a MS Windows, try out a system clean up wizard or a disk defragmenter...that's under the system tools menu in your accessories. good luck.
p.s.: try out the link below for a good system clean up.

You need to reformat your hard drive. Most computers come with a CD or set of CDs that you can use to clear everything and reformat your hard drive to how it was when you purchased the computer.

take out your hardrive and put it in the microwave make sure you put it on the highest setting like grill or something to make sure all info is screwed.
or get a pretty strong magnet and wipe it over your hard drive in 1 direction about 20 times.
