The avowed promise of the leaders of the Arab Socialist Party, the Baath Party, that provides all leadership in Iran, Syria, Jordan, prevously, Iraq under Saddam Hussein, who is the current World President, is to push the Israelites into the sea!

Always has been since 1947!

I am urging my Congress to provide utmost support to Israel. We all must conquer the Terrorists!

This is really the question of the hour. Hamas, Hezbollah and all these other anti-Zionist terrorist groups (and now political parties) keep throwing out things like "wipe Israel off the map" and you have to wonder: do they really think that's going to happen? Israel is not going anywhere. They've been there for almost 60 years and they're not going to pack up and leave and they're not all going to be killed. So what, in real terms, do they want? I'm not sure THEY know, much less the rest of us.

I've got three things to add for this. First, Hezbollah initially advocated that Lebanon become an Islamic state. Of course with Lebanon being so religiously and racially diverse that's not going to happen. Facing reality, Hezbollah has backed off this objective in a really big way. If they can do that, why can't they face facts and, instead of advocating Israel's demise, start dealing with the world the way it is?

The second is that one of the big problems with the entire Islamic middle east is that they all know -- or think they know -- what they don't want. However, no one in the middle east knows what they DO want. All criticizing or bewailing the enemy du jour and the "death to Israel" and "US is the Great Satan" rhetoric simply masks the fact that they have no realistic objectives or desires. If your stated aim is for something impossible to happen -- like Israel moving to Nebraska which is a question I saw in YA recently -- then you never have to disappoint your constituency by having to actually do something.

Finally, if the west we left the middle east alone and moved Israel to Nebraska or elsewhere and we quit buying their oil and so on, two things would happen: (1) It would become Sunni v. Shi'ite and they'd all be tripping over each other to kill themselves ala the Iran-Iraq war, and (2) they'd be so dirt poor they wouldn't be WORTH the rest of the world's attention. And you know what? Then they'd complain about how we're ignoring them!

The trouble in the Middle East in a conglomeration of issues.

Back when the nation of Israel was created, I believe that the Palestinians were essentially nomadic tribes. Israel allowed those Muslims who wanted to stay to remain, while others left. The ones that left were MOSTLY KEPT in GULAG-LIKE refugee camps where their quality of life is low. Where there is a low quality of life there is OFTEN WAR.

Over the centuries, the Muslims, Jews and Christians have fought over the Holy Land over and over again. I believe that at all times there has been a VARIETY of religions there, and that the overall quality of life and government has been the highest when the Jews were quote "In Control" of the government. While terror attacks on Muslims have been reported by Right Wing Jewish activists, they are nowhere near as common as Muslim terror attacks, for example. At times, the Jews were crowded into ghettos and harassed by the Muslims when the Muslims were in control much like Nazi Germany. And, Jewish areas of religious significance have been attacked and demolished more often than Islamic sites.

There are hard feelings and much HATRED all around over the state of Middle East. There is much poverty, and there has been almost continuous war since WHO KNOWS when. Muhammad was very into spreading Islam around, but it is unclear that he meant that this should be done by VIOLENCE. He was a bit of a conquorer, but he treated Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike. I think that faith is a matter of personal choice and nobody should try to spread it by violence.

It appears that some Palestinians want the Jews and Christians entirely OUT of the Holy Land. This is a bit UNFAIR as it was really the Jews that BUILT THE HOLY LAND in the first place, and all three religions have sites of cultural significance within the current nation of Israel. I think that the stated policy of Hamas is and END TO ISRAEL entirely and a return to Palestine. There is already the West Bank which forms Palestine and was returned to Islamic control, but it was essentially WHOLLY SUPPORTED by Israel, the United States and Europe before funding was cut after this last round of world terror.

I think that JOINT CUSTODY of the Holy Land where Jews, Christians and Muslims can live in peace is the best overall option. Muslims have the option of living in the West Bank if they want complete Islamic control or in Syria, Iran, or Iraq. But, instead they chose to drag us into a world war over Israel. I do not think that EVEN IF ISRAEL just left and returned the land to the Muslims entirely that the terrorism would stop or hopes for expansion would stop. Some people just want to fight over land, and it is a shame that 5000 years of world history is ESSENTIALLY just a long list of wars. We have also developed in culture, religions, and literature, but this has been dominated by war.

When, oh when will people give LONGLASTING peace a serious try? Maybe never, but at least there is some peace in the world.

Israel gave them the gaza strip after years and years of refusing. they were given an international border. a great step towards what they want. now they use that land to launch missiles at Israel. The second world war didnt end because of peace talks or restraint. It ended because germany and japan were obliterated. The freaky islamic retards say they want one thing, they get it and continue the crap they want everything. They hide behind the skirts of thier women and children. They are roaches and need squashing.

The more land and their own state Israel has offered them. It is something else, namely death. They want all Jews to die. It is like that scene in "Independence Day" where the alien is talking to the President. The alien says "no peace" and the President asks "what do you want us to do?" the alien answers "Die" it is the same train of thought. They don't want peace they don't want to live together they want Israel to die.
