No man has the right to tell you anything about your clothing.
No matter which country he runs, no matter how democraticly chosen he is, he has no right to tell you anything about your clothing!!
Whether his name is Tony, Jacques or even Angela (which is a German female name i think, sorry)....they all have no right what so ever to dictate your clothes.
I never thought i would say this, but when it comes to clothing i even prefer a man like Tony. Well..that not completely true...Tony chooses to help other guys throw bombs on people who dress differently.

Good on you! Patriarchal societies are a thing of a past and if you suffer a man trying to tell you what to do including what to wear, don't allow them to dominate you. You are an equal human being. Depending where you are from / living there is an unfortunate lack of education for equality and feminism, some cultures do not take into account modern society. Everyone should believe in something but they shouldn't try and control anyone as a result.

What an archaic idea, to let a man dictate ANYTHING to a woman. This of course does not mean that an established dress code for an office for example, can be ignored, even if it was set up by a male if he is the boss.

on the normal dressing a man should not dictate what you should wear, its your choice.
about the scarf thing i think he has a point, he is not dictating to you on how to dress, but he is only trying to free you from slavery, this is a pain most muslim women have gone through for centuries now, and i know so many muslim women who will be rejoiced to be in your position where a man tells you not to put on the scarf.

It all depends on what the woman's taste is;
Yes ... if she goes 1/2 naked to a place of worship or unrespectfully dressed in her community.NO... if the man is a dictator fanatic, esp if you're the breadwinner!! The best judge is the woman herself, talk to her partner ie if she wants to maintain harmony in the relationship; if unable to then its time she planned a divorce. Other cultures around the world have their own dress code. Just because some choose to walk around almost naked doesn't mean you have to follow too.

If your husband told you he found you less attractive wearing certain things would you still wear them?
Follow the laws of the land and the wishes of the people, if it is down to an individual then it doesnt matter but if it is out of respect for the culture of the country then you would have to

Only in the case of applying a uniform dress code mutually agreed between a contractor and a contractee, an employer and an employee, a club or other group and their members, etc., etc., etc.
Personally, I don't think anyone has the right to impose
their fashion notions on anybody, yet they do...

Well, I must be getting mellow in my "old age" because I let my wife pick out a new brand of underwear for me to wear just because she thought I'd look better in it. And I even let her tell me which color she doesn't like, and then I don't wear that particular color even though I picked it out because I like it (except when I want to bug her, then I deliberately find it and come to bed with it on.) And if she hadn't told me about this type of pullover shirt I wear every day now, I'd be wearing the typical button-down shirt I've worn all the other decades of my life. But I'm retired early now so it doesn't bug me. I do remember a long time ago when I dated a woman in college and she came down from her dorm room to go with me somewhere in town or on campus, and I thought what she wore made her so ugly that I told her to go back upstairs and change or I'd go to town on my own. Luckily I had the support of the other dorm employees who were also her friends, that saw her that day and supported my reaction, so she went back and changed. Later, after we married, one day when she was at work, I went through her closet and picked out the two dresses of hers that I thought made her look "out-of-date" and took them out and called her at work and told her what I was doing. Then I told her we had enough money in our account for her to go shopping for new dresses, etc., and so she did. A lot of times us guys won't tell you what we really think you look like or what your outfits look like because we've been trained that you all are too emotionally unstable to take the facts as we see them instead of believing all our bullsh-t about how "beautiful" you look, so we don't tell you anything and just go along with it. And sometimes, we just get tired of "going along with it", and we let you have it with both barrels. God Bless you.

No one whether a man or a woman should say what should be worn. The other person should be able to voice there opinion as to whether they like it, but should leave it up to the individual to choose. This is how we show our individuality.

Are you dressing for comfort, or to follow the rules set down in the qur'an, because if its the latter, you are allowing men to tell you how to dress.
