dsl needs a telephone I know that for sure. I would think that broadband runs through the cable. However a lan system? wtf are you talking about. A LAN is a local area network, that is just a network of computers inside of your house connection through ethernet cable and "network cards". A lan has nothing to do with the internet unless
1) you are using a router to connect to a dsl dialer.
2) you are connecting to the dialer and going straight to a computer where that computer acts as a router/firewall... that is uber advanced though and I would think if you were asking a question like this that wouldnt be what you are doing...

:You don't need a phone line for DSL or broadband. You do need phone for dial up service. LAN mean Local Area Network. It is not an Internet connection, it is connecting a series of computers in the same area, such as a business or home. They can connect over the internet but you would need an ISP and this could be either DSL, broadband or dialup.

you should the contact your ISP or your telephony provider in the adventure that they are separate agencies. i have heard of this earlier, engineers have come out to fix the issue and it seems the issue is interior the telecoms field interior the line. you'll get 'noise' on the line which interferes with the signal your stepping into your information superhighway and telephony. make confident whoever comes out to fix it tests no longer purely the wiring on your position yet also out interior the line. in the adventure that they say theyve fixed it, try it earlier they go away by using calling your position huge variety even as on line.
