There are diffrerent ways to go about this, here is the way I usually do it.
First you need to have the music you want saved on your computer as an mp3 file. Then you need to upload it to a hosting company like Ripway www.ripway.com. It is free for the basics. Ripway will give you a code and you place that code into your myspace.

if they dont have a song u like on myspace music u can always put a music video on there..from different sites, just get the code for it.

If your have mp3's on your pc just upload them to a server then paste them in the music code

u can go to someones profile and if u like their song just press "ADD"
or go to coshed.com and make a mp3 player =D
