my computer runs slow at time but it seems to be very slow can someone give advice on how to speed the system up?

Your system may be infected with a virus or malware. I suggest a good anti-virus program like NORTON, and a malware killer like Ewido. I was having the same problem, and a computer dealer installed the complimentary edition of it, and brother, does it work. I purchased it and have NOT been happier. You ALSO may just have too much JUNK on your system. If you have had your computer more than 2 years, youi may want to consider having it re-formatted, i.e., erasing everything but programs you want or HAVE to save, and basically starting fresh. If you do not have a good high-speed internet service, I highly recommend it. I got rid of my dial-up about 2 years ago, and I will NEVER go back to it. GOOD LUCK!!! Hallsie

well, you can try a free program to get rid of spyware. Go to http://www.zdnet.com and look up spybot, search and destroy. It is a free spyware removal program that works quite well for free. Or you can give webroot spy sweep a shot. You need to buy this, but it rids the computer of ad ware, spyware, and also finds Trojans. Also, you need anti virus software. Get both and see what happens. I clean out everyones computers at work....it gets old, but I like my computer happy and clean. (knock on wood)

then best way is to remove all unneed software and if that doesn't work reformat the hard drive and start fresh.

you may have spyware in your pc! kill it first
