Fortune favors those who preservere. If you acquire the correct displacement of abilities, which includes being bold, you can succeed. While being outgoing in itself usually permits someone opportunity, it also means that this opportunity needs to be filled with something else. One cannot go about the world advertising something they don't have. If you do not have the ability to go past opportunity and make things happen, then fortune will pass you up. So in a way, fortune does favor the bold- but so does failure.
