I think miscarriage is a more American term. Abortion might be a correct term. Anyway, the first three months there is a high risk of abortion anyway, and after that it goes down considerably until 5 months. If her doctor was talking about this, then sex should be fine. However, if he is saying that she currently has a high risk pregnancy (aka, there is something unusual about her pregnancy) then she should probably abstain from sex until her doctor says otherwise. When in doubt, give the doctor a call and ask.

At this point you better decide what you want because after a baby is past 12 weeks (3 months) they will not legally do an abortion. This will cost you a good amount of money and i don't remember any one saying that insurance will cover it because it is not a need it is a want. It really does not matter what he wants this is your responsibility too and when having sex protected or not there are always risks of getting pregnant and if you are not ready to take that risk you should not have sex at all and it is not the babies fault at all that this had happened. If you think that you can't be a mother then put it up for adoption there is no reason to get abortion when ever some one who is unable to have children could adopt it and love it.They have adoption centers where you get to choose who your babies parents will be and they undergo back round checks and you can View their finances and make sure they can provide for your child. If you don't want to be involved with the child ever then do a closed adoption where you are never contacted and no information is provided to the child about you.If you do want involved then do an open adoption where they send you pictures and updates on how the child is doing and every so often meet up with you some where for you to see the child. This honestly does not have to be a horrible and sad experience! Make the best out of the situation instead of taking the easy way out of it by killing it.I think you would regret killing it and would never forgive your self. Most people who get abortions if they really do care they end up going to therapy because it haunts them.

A high risk of ABORTION??? I think you mean a high risk of a miscarriage. And once you get the terminology right, this is a question for her doctor, not people on Yahoo! Answers.

Hi, if this really is a question about your "sister" and not you then someone has to sit her down and encourage her to slow down on the sex or she's gonna have 2 more kids after this one in next 2yrs. It seems she hasn't got much luck with contraception and abstainance is only thing left! Anyway on a serious note, in high risk preg she should be careful, careful, careful..

NO! Usually sex is alright, but if you are having trouble it is not a good idea, traumatizing the cervix can cause a mis-carriage. To be on the safe side, she should wait, better safe than sorry.

actually the medical terminology for miscarriage is "spontaneous abortion" , so its possible the doctors used that terminology to her. and she shoudl NOT be having sex right now.
