Because it is their body and their choice. I don't think it is "STUPID." I do think there are other better options, yet some of these girls are young and scared thus not in the right state of mind to make such a decision which usually ends with them having an abortion because they feel that it is the "only way out." I would have to say that abortion is not for me, but it is also not my place to make others choices or to force my beliefes on them either. I can say that because I HAVE been on both sides of the fence. I had an abortion when I was 18 years old and I know that I will NEVER have one again. It was the worst thing that I have ever done in my entire life. I say that now because when I was 24 my daughter (my second pregnancy) died because she was born too early and her lung were not fully developed. I took this as my punishment for what I had done to my first child. Thank God since then I have been blessed with another daughter who I do not take for granted one bit. So saying that, I stick by my decision. I will never do it again and I do not think that abortion is right, but like I said I also do not think that it is right for me to force my beliefes on others just because the choices I made where not right for me in the end. The people who have abortions will get punished one way or another (like myself) but that is up to a higher power, not the little earth dwellers.

People who try to guilt others into not having abortion by making up stories of "what the baby said in heaven" and "when a person has an abortion the baby thinks/feels this that and this other" is just as bad as the one having the abortion.

They should really mind their own business because in the end it is the person who had the abortion who is going to have to answer to the crime and the actions of the others who feel the need to force their opinion on others are not action very "christian like" IMO.

Of course they know there are other options but they CHOOSE to abort most likely due to circumstance and the current situation that they're in.

Sh*t happens, people make mistakes and unfortunately people get pregnant. If we didn't have a choice to abort in these types of situations this world would be even more populated.

Abortion is a choice. Mind your own business

I doubt you've ever had to deal with hardship or a huge decision like abortion so your opinion means squat. On the other hand the person above your naive comment actually sounds intelligent.

Of course they know there are other options. Your question assumes that they believe as you seem to believe (that abortion is the "wrong" option to take.) The other options, of course, all involve carrying the pregnancy to term and those who have an abortion have that as an unacceptable option. Sometimes that would cause financial hardship, physical incapacity, family stress/strain/shame....No one can know why another person acts as they do - none of can know why another woman ends a pregnancy, but no one should, therefore, assume that they know what considerations, believes and circumstances come into play for them when making that decision.

There are other options, but maybe they don't fit them. Women who have abortions may not be emotionally ready to actually give birth to a child. There are plenty of reasons that a women would have an abortion.

Very often because of pressure from the partner (husband, boyfriend etc) Many men threaten to leave a woman who refuses to have an abortion. She may fear that she will be unable to work and support herself, much less a child. Studies show that domestic violence often begins or increases when there is an unwanted pregnancy. A woman might have an abortion because she fears the man she depends on will kill or injure her if she doesn't.

In some cases it can be deadly. An ectopic pregnancy needs to be aborted, A fetus that has 1/2 of or no brain can't live outside the womb. It is a woman's choice, but when it's used as a method of birth control, it makes me angry. My sister has had 8 of them and for that I have no respect for her.

i dont know why... its stupid.. i always say if u cant face reality then dont have sex..
i mean, sex is a big responsibility.. leading to pregnancy or a disease.. so if ya not ready to face it... no sex till you ready
some get em bcuz they still young, in school, and just cant take care of it, i mean i just think its stupid plus its against my religion

and options are.. adoption but i dont think its fair to a child.. i mean them not having their real parent.. i would be mad if i didnt have my real family.. only time they should ever gave the child up is when the parents is abusing the child.. if the parent is on drugs
i mean if its just an abortion.. its just not fair
bcuz i know when the baby is in heaven the baby ask:

"mom, why didnt you want me?"
"i could of been a doctor"
"why didnt you just give me a change"

and that sorta make me think
**was i really a mistake**

If you want to stop abortion, take in a pregnant teen, track down a deadbeat dad, donate to a home for unwed mothers, adopt a child, or at least foster one. Don't just preach don't do it, make those options more real to someone.

"It's their body, and their choice." Are you aware that babies in the womb respond to external stimuli? And are you aware that their brains are developed by the time most abortions are done? There is no way to say they aren't alive.

The reason for having an abortion, is to take away the "Burdon" of motherhood, which is stupid since most adoption agencies would love to have the baby...

Sometimes it is not the right time to have a baby and it's better for all parties invoilved.

Sometimes, people use adequate proctection and still become pregnant.

Sometimes, people are raped or molested...

there are A LOT of contributing factors to why people have abortions....no one should judge anyone for making their own choices.
