Wow, there are so many to choose for me but if I had to select a few, here would be some of the top riffs I like and would recommend for listening:

AC/DC - Back in Black
Thunderstruck (Intro only)
T.N.T.

Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze
Foxy Lady

Van Halen - Hot For Teacher

The Beatles - I Want You (She So Heavy)
Yer Blues
Helter Skelter

Led Zeppelin - Good Times, Bad Times
Immigrant Song (as heard on "School of Rock")
Communication Breakdown
Black Dog

The Doors - Touch Me
Light My Fire
Five to One
Hello, I Love You
and more.. (there too many Doors song to list for
me)

Those are a few selection that I like, but there might be more, so I can't list them all.

How about, just about everything Jimmy Page has ever played? Pick any Zeppelin tune, you'll hear one of the greatest riffs ever written.
