It has some sort of filtration system and I am sort of inheriting it but I know nothing about taking care of fish. Please give me as many details as you can? Thanks...

I know that in areas with cold winters your pond needs to be 3 to 3 and a half feet deep if you want to keep them in during the winter. I change or clean my filter every 2 weeks. I just feed regular koi food or goldfish food. They have products to keep the water clear but i have algae and it is not a problem. You can add live plants if you like they are natural water filters. A waterfall is good for keeping you water oxygenated. Good luck. The product i use to help keep down the algae is called pondzyme

Goldfish will keep you from having mosquitoes. I even have had ponds for over twenty years. i do away with my best koi each and every spring to maintain their detrimental habit to a min. (eating my water lilies, etc.). not many concepts for chilly water fish in captivity.
