I would like to join a sorority, but I won't be in one if you have to do idiotic things just to become a member.

Not always. There are also honorary fraternities for guys and gals that are based on merit.

Yes. It is called hazing. I think the schools watch pretty closely what goes on during pledge time. But, check it out first.

Then I guess you won't be joining one. I attended Notre Dame, and even there hell week was full of stupid things we had to do.
