because at this point the hezbollah CONTROLS the lebanese govt. that's why this conflict between them and isreal is taking place, just like the fact that the hamas controls the palestinian govt. and the hezbollah has a good foothold in the iranian govt.

Hezbollah isn't just a bunch of guys with guns running around Lebanon. They have hospitals and schools and provide social services to the Lebanese that the government doesn't. They also make the services available to any Lebanese, Muslim, Christian or Jew. They've made the Lebanese like them, why would they get rid of the people who provide them with medical care and an education? If it's the only way to get it?

Because hezbollah is a political party with 12/128 seats in parliament. They are a formidable fighting force, more effective than the lebanese army due to their guerilla tactics. They currently have about 100, 000 missiles. They are funded heavily by iran. They run services and provide financial assistance to the shiites of lebanon. They have the support of the lebanese shiites.

Because they have allowed them in as part of their government. For what ever reason I don't know, but they should have found a way to eradicate them before now. They have supported a terrorist organization and are now paying for it. I feel no remorse for their situation. Israel told the Hezbollah to return their troops in two days or they would attack........No returned soldiers and here we are today. At least Israel is true to their word.

The mafia does good works in communities too. Does that mean we should allow them to infiltrate and control the US government?
The Lebanese allowed Hezbollah to engrain themselves in Lebanon. They made their bed and now are uncomfortable sleeping in it.
The point is they are sympathetic to their cause and have no intentions in trying to remove them.
