This is a tricky question. I knew a girl who married outside her race and the marriage was fine, but she had a hard time fitting in with his family. They were nice and accepting to her, but she just felt uncomfortable, because she was so different. A lot of it had to do with the fact that her family was dysfunctional and his was normal.

On the other had I have met people who had to totally give up their families to be with the one they loved because of race. I think it just depends on the situation.

If you truly love the person and yes are willing to deal some peoples biases, then go for it. It is you who is in the relationship not them. I say if you love them then love will get you through it.

Our world is changing and being with someone of a different race should be the last concern on anyone's mind.

Love is always great, If you love that person, why should it matter... Most importantly science says crossing and mixing the gene will reduce the risk of many diseases in the new generation. Therefore your kids will be very healthy and much intelligent than if you married to same race

I think it can be a good thing. If you have children, you can expose them to two cultures or more. I think if you can learn from each others differences as well as similarities, it can work. I've never done it, but I'm open to marrying outside my race.

If you can adapt to their culture as well as they can with you, be understanding, supportive (all marriage vows included) know that some people will not understand (family, get spoken about/stared at) teach your children to be proud of both their heritages, themselves...go for it! Oh by the way race shouldn't matter if you in fact 'LOVE' this person (love is blind after all)...

Yes, it's a wonderful thing! My husband is white and European, and I'm black and puerto rican. We love it! It has open my eyes', to alot of new things. He's so amazing, caring, smart, and has a great personality. Well, he is shy, and I'm the loud/bright one in the relationship. We balanced each other out. You should do. Only if you love the person your in a relationship with. I wish you good-luck!

Black and white I seriously do not recommend. If the man is black from my own observation he seems to regard the fact he got a white girl as trophy and they treat her that way. Orientals and whites are not as bad, but there can be problems. Of course hispanics and Indians are not other races.

If you're in love with that person, it's a great thing. Race shouldn't be a deciding factor.

Only if race is the prime consideration, then, yes. It's a huge abomination and you shouldn't be allowed to watch ' The Simpsons ' ever, never, ever again.
