My doctor told me that I have to wait to hear from their office on a date that the next availability will be for an induction at the hospital. She said that they dont induce on weekends? Is this right? Does everyone do this when wanting to get an induction? I'm already 40 weeks and 2 days pregnant and worried. I dont want anything to go wrong with the baby. How long does it take for the hospital to get back to your doctors office?
The doctor stripped my memebranes but it still didnt put me at ease , I want to be induced b/c i feel like this baby is never going to come out.

It depends on the hospital on how long it takes to get back to the doctor. And most doctors do not induce labor on weekends.

first thing, you and you baby should be fine. the worst thing that could happen is you might need a c-section due to the baby might be to large to come down the birth canal b/c you are over due.i was induced on April 12 and i know it takes some time to get the Dr. to see things your way. they wont do inductions on the weekends b/c most hospitals are under staffed at that time and they would also need a Sergent on hand in case of a c-section. for some stupid resins most sergeants don't work on sat & sun. if you can call and ask your dr. to scedule you for an early morning induction on monday or tuse. i had to be at mine at 6 am and dilivered at 1107 am but i was also alredy dilated to a 3 when they started the potosen.you might not be as fast or you could also diliver faster than that. good luck, and i hope you have a health baby.

doctors usually have 1-2 days a week to do inductions. they have to have days for appts and keep the schedules open for natural labors as well.

Have you tried any natural methods to start labor? Go to a health food store and get raspberry leaf tea, it has a herb that can start labor. Take a warm shower and tweak your nips, the stimulation can cause contractions. Or, have sex! The big O can help stimualte labor to

PS. GOOD LUCK!!

they dont normally leave you any longer then two weeks over due, see you doctor or midwife if your worried, just to give your baby a quick check over just to put your mind at ease, i know it feel like forever, i know i have been there four times, just enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, i hope everything goes well for you, and soon you will have your baby in your arms and feel that rush of love, i wish you all the luck

my dumb midwife made me wait until i was 10 1/2 mos pregnant and than I had to demand that they induce me that day. Speak up and make them do it. some doctors wait too long and cause problems. my little girl was just shy of breathing in the meconium.
