Cyprus is "just off the coast of Lebanon" on a map!
It is 100% safe here and that's why all foreign evacuees from Lebanon come to Cyprus and stay here until the jewish bombing is over.
Cyprus is an EU state, and is completely neutral from arab and jewish interests. You are probably safer here than where you are now.

Check with the State Department's web site. The site is updated hourly with information about conditions all around the globe. It would give you a good idea of the safety in Cyprus. I would also be concerned about the facilities. With everyone being evacuated to Cyprus, I'm sure the lodging will be limited. I'd cancel and look for another place that offered the island amenities without all the turmoil.

You should go. By late August most of the people will go to their countries. make sure you have a room not just because of Lebanon but because its difficult to get a room at that time every year.
I love late August in Cyprus (I live in the US) During the day is hot but at night it gets cool and nice. Protaras is my favorite place.

Go, though I recommend Greece instead. I loved the Cyclades island chain. Cyprus may be a little packed with refugees, but it's not like you can't go to the beach. Just make sure and secure a hotel room ahead of time and make sure its set in stone.
