Lots of kids songs are disturbing. But hey...isn't that one of the reasons kids like them? My personal favorite is a song that talks about a frog getting hit by a truck!
The one that offended me more as a kid wasn't necessarily a song, but a prayer. You know the one that goes "now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, if I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take"? When I was a kid, my siblings and I recited a different version of that prayer that went "now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, his love go with me all the night, and wake me with the morning light." So when I heard the other (creepy) version, I was absolutely appalled. My sister loved it and started reciting it, and I refused to even acknowledge it, because it scared me sh*tless.

It's a HORRIBLE song, there are a lot of things out there like this, though, back in the day they thought it would teach kids a lesson. Did you know that in the original "Little Mermaid" written by Hans Christian-Anderson that the little mermaid died??? I was mortified when I found this out.

What do you mean by "creepy?" It is an age old song. My daughter (who is 2, still likes me to rock her and sing it) What scares you?

Yes I think it's horrible. I wouldn't ever sing it to my kids. Why would ANYBODY sing a song about babies falling out of a tree?

I totally agree because I am totally freaked when I hear it. I imagine myself rocking in a tree and then falling.
