I have some brown patches on my face (kind of like a mega freckle), supposedly due to taking the pill. Any tips on how to make them go away ? Has anyone found a cream other than bleach which helps ?

Porcelana works to slowly fade them over time. You can get it a most major discounters and drug stores. And, it really does work, you just have to be patient.

Hidroquinone. Neutrogena has it in non-prescription strenght (around 2%). Retinol, and products containing kojic acid vitamin C or mandelic acid also help, but you must be persistent and, most important of all, use spf protection every day, even if you stay indoors. I´m a light olive skin and use spf 45 daily, because I tend to get brown patches myself.
Do not use any of these products if you don´t intend to use sunblock, as the condition can (and will) worsen due to the hipersensitivity these products may cause. On the other hand, sunblock alone will make quite a difference.

I saw an ad for some cream (prescription) that helped that condition (but I don't remember the name of the medication or the condition. Sorry.) You probably need to go to a dermatologist--if it's hormone-related, you may need to switch your version of the pill or go off it and use another type of birth control and maybe use that cream. Whatever it's called.
