Yeppers. A family friend scored a 1790 recently and was told by NC State that based on his initial score (a 1700), he'd be accepted there. Will you be able to take it again before you graduate high school? You could always shoot for something even higher (but from what I gather with the new scoring system, a 1730 is good).

2400 is max score. According to the chart at the widipedia entry, below, 1730 would put you in the 75th percentile.
(For readers who are familiar with the old SATs, there's a new test and new scoring - see the link for more info).
75th percentile is no guarantee. Above average, but you're going to have competition from lots of folks with better scores. In your case the schools will also be looking at your grades, and some of those schools also look at other factors such as community involvement, sports, or activities. If you have a B or better average and some extracurricular involvement, you should make it in to some of those schools okay.

I graduated high school 2 years ago and the highest SAT score was 1600, but I think they added an essay part now and it's 1800??
Anyway, yea that's VERY good.
If you want to know if it'll get you into a certain school, go to their websites and look at admissions or just facts about the study body. Normally they'll list things like the average SAT score.
Also, see about scholarships. I got lots because of my SAT score. And with that score, I'm sure you'll get some!!

That is actually good. An 1800 is considered really good, (my sister got this score and was ecstatic) so I am assuming that is really good too. What you should do is go to the yahoo education section and look up the schools you want to go to. At the bottom of the page is a list of Average SAT scores, or you can go to college board and do the same thing (I suggest the latter).

If you are thinking UNC Chapel Hill then no I would say no. They are a really tough school. You'd need a 2100 or so at least.
As for Georgia college you need to be specific-Georgia Tech, Georgia State, University of Georgia? Tech-probably not. State and UGA maybe.

Unless the SAT scoring system has changed....that score is not possible. I believe the highest score is 1600. But if you got a 1730...you can get into any college you want! LOL.
Good luck to you!
