Should senators and representatives be barred form accepting, largely symbolic, yet extremly high paid positions from corporations after they rtire from 'public service'?
It seems to be a long running joke on the American people. do bribery before hand and the HUGE payoff afterwards!
It is the truth (however unprovable it may be) that these posiions are payofs for pushing through or blocking legislation that is beneficial/detrimental to said company!
If the ban were there, these corporations would have to find another way to pay off the bribes. That might be more prosecutable.
Secondarily, should not the justice dep't investigate every one that has already happened? Seems that we might get some law overturned if we can show the Buying of the votes in this way.

funny kathy! You shuld know that no one is absolutely free and no freedom is absolute!
As for lobbies? Yes they shold be forever banned!
ONE man one vote not one dollar or one company!
corporations have NO say so in our system!
(in theory) and that is how it should be!

Lobbying is another scourge that should be prohibited by law ...
If big corporations want to contribute to the political process, let them do so openly, and into a common kitty, from whence funds are distributed evenly to the political parties ... or failing that, they will have to publicly state which party they support, and how much money they have contributed ...
Actually, many European countries have already gone down this route ... what is obscene in this country is the vast amount of money being spent on political campaigns ... that money has to come from somewhere, and those who give the money will want something in return ... put an end to big business donations, put an end to lobbying, put an end to political favors ... maybe we would the finally see an administration for the people by the people etc., etc.
