Makes sense. The other movies left that great story untouched. There is a movie circulating online that is 42 minutes and is a recreation of the 1st part of the original Resident Evil game that first came out on Playstation complete with the cutscenes. I think you can access it from 1up.com

It isn't. Alice returns as well as Jill, Carlos, and the introduction
of Claire(played by Ali Landry). It takes place in a post apocalytic
world plagued by zombies. It takes place in a remote desert. And
I want to kill Anderson.
