Whoever started the war, israel always lacked humanity gestures in their action. This equation can never be justified..2 soldiers = 330 civilians...atleast for Godsake israel shud understand that lebanon are not even capable of attacking as they lack air force and ground troops...Hezbollah is a militant group loathed by lebanese too...but killing of innocent civilians is never justified..bear in mind lebanese is dominated by christians and the whole world is "petrified" by american govt backing israel. Killing civilians on name of Hezbolla...world knws that american politics is dominated by "Jews".
Israel is gonna be rewarded with more extremism...means massacre of mankind ..where only and only innocents are involved.

Well, I agree the loss of innocent life in war is upsetting, but lets not forget that these terrorist organizations don't dress in military uniform's, they dress as the ordinary population, hiding like cowards. Also, do not forget that Israel gave in to demands and turned over the Gava Strip about a year ago. They even forcefully removed their own people. Another point, I think it is Israel's duty to protect it's solder's and if they let this go without any consequences, what would Hezbollah try next? you can only push a person/nation so much before they have to push back.
as for wiping Lebanon off the map, I don't think anyone including Israel wants that, just the terrorists. And if Syria and Iran get involved further than they are, I'm afraid we will be in WW3.

I should think that if only one person were the focus of the conflict it would be sufficient. Consider what you are saying when you count the number of lives in the balance. If one hundred of your citizens are taken hostage they would know that you would use only a very limited amount of force to save them. More than if one were taken but less than if they were a thousand. It is important that your own people, as well as any potential enemy, know that you will go all out in defense of them, regardless of their number. Lebanon is less a country than a geographic expression and the southern half of the "country" is ruled by Hezbollah. Crossing the border into southern Lebanon is less an invasion of a sovereign country then it is crossing into gang turf. To call this "genocide" is an insult to all the peoples who have faced real genocide. I have no dog in this fight but I feel that Israel is in the right.

Like it was said on Star Trek...The needs of the many outway the needs of the few. ...I agree that a few lives (Israel) does not make an excuse for a war. The world at large should and I believe is obligated to put an end to this madness. Israel has killed more people in the occupied territories than any other country ever have. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. I say...embargo Israel and cut off all means of conducting business as usual. They are not the only people opressed on the globe. God's chosen race...ya..I'm sure. Where does that leave the rest of us??

ok here are a few facts about hesbolla
Hezbollah is known or suspected to have been involved in a number of attacks against the U.S., Israel and other Western nations or targets. The most notorious is the 1983 suicide truck attacks that killed 241 U.S. Marines;
Hezbollah has also launched shells and rockets into northern Israel, and especially into the Shebaa Farms area, which Hezbollah claims as its own, while Israel maintains it is part of the Golan Heights, which it controls;
The armed wing has also grown fond of using freelance groups to take Westerners hostage;
Hezbollah has been held responsible for 1996's suicide bombing of the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia. Nineteen people died in the attack, and in 1994, the bombing of a Jewish community centre in Argentina that killed 85 people was credited to Hezbollah;
these are just a few of the things hezbolla has done if we continue to allow them to do these things then more people will lose their lives. who knows maybe they will eventualy kill thousands of people it is better to stop them before they can do these things
the lives lost so far is a tragedy but is it better to lose a few innocent lives now and pay for it big time later.

Why is everyone "quite" what? "Quite" pleased that the Israelis are defending themselves? You want an non-biased answer and yet you are extremely biased. Can't get non-biased when YOU are biased; doesn't work that way. If Hezbollah would come out from behind the innocent, the innocent wouldn't get hurt. But Hezbollah are cowards who would rather see civilians die than take what they deserve. Blame Hezbollah, not Israel. And let's not forget the missiles Hezbollah is sending into Israel and murdering women and children there.

I feel it is absolutely unjustified and I have been tired my country "official position" with regards to Israel for a LONG time. Unfortunately my political views don't happen to agree with my governments. When I become dictator I will be sure to dump the Israeli hump on our shoulders.
