Are we witnessing the start of WW3?

As I type this, Israeli troops are massing on the Lebanese border. Is this the beginning of WW3?

I dunno, but with the US sticking it's nose into everything, I know the world is going to EXPLODE someday or another. You can almost sense the tension, or is it just me? (My dad's in Iraq right now, he tells me how nervous things are out there. There could be an Iraqi sitting on a roof while an american convoy rolls by. He wont be doing anything, but theyll shoot him anyway because he's suspicious. That's just how they feel about eachother there...) Thankfully im in the neutral country:D (The netherlands) I should move to australia soon, nothing happens there...

Well it is said that the beginning of the end of mankind would
start with a Jew/Islam conflict. Then everyone takes sides and
well you know we all die and stuff. And right now it is starting but we might be lucky like last time when it was just a border action.
As of today July 21 2006 we have learned that it is not just
a border action but they want to wipe out anything that is
destroyng the Jewish land meanin Hezoballah. Now they want to
start a ground invasion so lets just hope its not something serious
because Iran has said that it will take action by Aug meaning
that the U.S will get involved so China and Russia will get
involved to protect thaeir oil. That is WW3 so yes and no this
is the start of WW3 or its just that we are on the edge of starting.

Yes it is. North Korea and Iran want to sell nukes and destabilize the world. Russia has the Chechnya problem. There are about 20 armed conflicts in Afrika. Alquida wants western civilization gone and are doing their best. They have bombed multiple countries..Indonesia, Philippines,Pakistian, India, Spain, USA and so on. When the cold war was over WW3 started. It truly is a global issue.
Liberals still think focus groups and hugs are the answer. What ever happened to the "Human Shields" over in Iraq? Sadam used them up as somuch political fodder.

Once again the missuse of World War. A world war is one that involves countries form EVERY continent. Unless the US actively takes part in a war between Isreal and it's neighbors and it spreads to Africa and Europe, then into Asia and into the pacific, then it's a REGIONAL war.

This phrase and the fear it invokes is being tossed around too much and it's time for people to learn the history and real meaning of a world war, so please don't think I'm ranting at you for asking the question.

No and No. A World War by definition involves most of the world. This is a border action that will be over in a few weeks.

Newt Gingrich made a compelling argument for this position on last Sunday's Meet The Press. It certainly is an interesting theory. However, I don't know that it has any more validity than those who believe that we are in the End Times described in Revelations. It is very difficult to analyze such seminal events while they are in progress.

the third WW has already begun for some time now... it's called "the war on terrorism"
since 9/11 there has been an all out war in several countries like afganistan, irak and now lebanon... and i'm affraid it won't stop here...

thats a stupid question!!! no one can answer it for sure. was the cuban missle crisis the start of world war 3. was the korean war the start of world war 3. the answer was no. and as for this current crisis only time will tell
