The Lord of the Rings Books are better.
But for movies, Star Wars.

For reading, I would say LOTR.
As for the movies, I'd say the first Star Wars (episode IV) is a classic (almost a whole new genre), and the second LOTR, The Two Towers is my favorite in that series. Overall, Jackson, et al., did an incredible job on LOTR, while Lucas's work seemed to decline after the first trilogy (i.e. IV-VI). So LOTR either way, but with a small asterisk*.

i'm gona have to say STAR WARS!!!! never did like Lord of the Rings, but star wars is the best!

they are both awesome!
i like the 2nd trilogy of star wars better tho (the newer ones)
but i love the lord of the rings too!

lord of the rings had a better plot especially if you read the hobbit also had better animation and surround sound no doubt about it lord of the rings
