go to a normal pet store, such as pet supplies plus. they sell gerbils, hamsters, mice, and even sometimes lizards and tarantulas

Pet Stores always have small animals. Here's some - Hamsters, snakes, rabbits, rats, guenie pigs, birds, spiders, fish, frogs, lizards, iguanas, etc.

Hmmm. Reptiles - some geckos are small. Fish can be small. Hermit crabs grow, but start out small. Mice are small - they are my personal favorite. Why don't you go to any petstore and look around? If you like certain ones, you can come back to Yahoo Answers and ask about that one.

Go get an ant farm, ants are everywhere, they are small and you can just go outside to get ants, they can even be easy to take care of.
