If you really have to send it by mail just search the web for a file splitter program. It breaks up the file into smaller pieces (size can be determined by you) and each piece can then be sent as an individual e-mail. Person on receiving end must have the same program to be able to join it again.

what size is your file? is it less than 1 GB? if so you can send it to them on yahoo messenger, but of course you both have to have yahoo messenger account.
Is this movie already divided into pieces of files, that you could zip and send?

What about converting the file to a compressed file format like mp4 I think for videos. or wmv. (super fever off download.com can do this for you),

Next option is upload the file to a website and have them download it
(but you need to have access to a webspace large enough to upload it first, so that could be problematic, was just looking around and it is unlikely that you will find a free web host for more than 1.5GB, and even that is really hard to find.

Next option, not sure is this is possible and not recommended, but a last resort, sign up for free limewire account, upload the file and tell your friend to download the file you uploaded on limewire and tell her the name. However, this is still risky, considering limewire and other peer to peer sharing sites often contain spyware and viruses etc.

Burn it on cd/dvd and take the disk to them (or snail mail (regular mail that is))

Lastly, if you have some tech experience and want to go to the extreme, you could download the apache web server off devside.net and follow the directions to upload it, then set up the file for download off your computer. but you would want to know how to make your computer more secure and it would take a couple hours for an experienced techie to do this, so inexperienced it could take a really really long time.

That is the end of my suggestions. Myself i had the apache server running on my old computer, but my site is down right now and I am out of town. So, I would put it up for download and get my friend to download it.

Video files are too large to send in the email. But you can cut it into two if you want using windows movie maker because 10mb is the maximum file to be attach.

your probably not going to be able to email a video file... you should post it on a ftp site...

You can go to http://www.yousendit.com/ . Start an account, its free, and you can send up to 1 gig

most emailboxes can't take over 6 mbs, but some can take up to 15 or so...

you can always use pando. It works great. it downloads and uploads any file size...any file without opening a browser. it also works while your online without slowing your speed.
I use it all the time...I've uploaded and downloaded....video, zipped files up to 150 Mg's ... I've downloaded a 3 gig file...took with my dsl...about 35 minutes...but it was a breeze.
www.pando.com

There is also rapidshare and megaupload....both are better with a premium acct (which I have with both)...

If your ISP says it is to big or the ISP on the other end says it is to big there isn't much you can do. Burn it on a CD and drop it in the mail.
