There were 6 seasons. The 5th was only half a season because Sarah Jessica Parker was pregnant in real life. In the last episode Samantha is undergoing chemo, but it kills her sex drive so she pushes Smith away right before he leaves for a movie shoot. He returns from the movie shoot to tell her he loves her and she opens up again.
