I am alarmed at the number of people who today still believe in the bible's fore cast of end times .THEY think four horseman will ride out of the heavens . THEY apperently breath space dust before burning up in our atmosphere like all thingss that come to our planet .I guess science means nothing to these people .I have even talked to them outside airports and they are amazed at how planes fly .NO wonder we are in trouble .

Politicians don't believe in the bible, they are just preying on people who are ignorant enough to believe in it. The sections of the bible were all written at least a hundred years after the life of Jesus. The bible was written and rewritten by MEN to acquire power, influence and demonize women. This is exactly what the politicians want to do. Their highest priority is MONEY, power and influence. Thomas Jefferson was a stanch believer in the strict separation of church and state because of this. Look at any religious government and see what a desperate state they are in. They breed despots. What scares me the most is the educational system that churns out people who are unable to read between the lines and so embrace the the propaganda the media spews. Why are the "news" organizations not calling the politicians on their lies? That's the scary part...that and the fact that we allow them to get away with it.

It does frighten me a bit but I think very few of those politicians really believe it. Bush? Oh yeah. Rove? I don't think so. I just hope it doesn't get worse. The Middle East today and the dark ages in Europe are great examples of what a world where religious faith directs the course of nations looks like. In a word, crap.

The whole "end times" scenario has always fascinated me, especially the fact that certain people seem to want to be around for them. My personal take is that this desire is primarily egotistical.

Even if you buy fundamentalists arguments that the world has been around for only 6,000 years (and I don't think many do) it's still been here for a while. What makes these folks think they're so damn special that they will be here for it? I think that it's often a power fantasy--"Once the end times are here you'll be sorry!" That's when God will punish all the people they didn't agree with, or so they think. Absolutely bizarre.

I'm pretty sure some of these folks think that after the grand punishment has commenced they'll end up eating chicken fingers at a heavenly Applebee's with Rush Limbaugh, Dale Earnhardt and Jesus.

WWIII does not mean the end of the world. For a long time it was synonomis with the end of the world because WWIII meant war between the US and USSR. That would have eventually led to nuclear weapons being used. Enough of them to wipe life off the face o the planet. The fall of the USSR and China's weak nuclear and missle program makes a conventional WWIII possible. China's aggression makes it inevitable.

Many Christians have always believed they lived in end times. As a whole people focus on the negitive. So what is more negitive than the end of the world? Maybe the continuation of it but in a way you don't like. Many people would gladly end the world if the world were to become something they abhored. So in a way it may be wishfull thinking as well.

As for Revalations. It is a warning not so much a prediction. Revalations says if you stick your hand in a fire it's going to get burned. If we continue to destroy cival liberties, form up a world Government and attempt to remake man into a unisex bowl of conformity. Yes we will destroy ourselves in the process. The ensueing wars will be inevitable as mankind is not meant for such conformity or such sterile environments. It is to defy our own nature. No matter how good the intent, the evil done to prevent evil is sometimes far worse than the evil we sought to prevent.

I don't know where you're getting the spacedust stuff, but the four horseman are metaphors. Each represents some calamity. I think they're war, plague, famine and... I don't remember the other one. But nobody believes they are literal. Revelations is clearly written metaphorically.

Plus, if you wanna split hairs, not everything that comes to our planet from space burns up in the atmosphere. Our spaceships have actually gotten pretty good at landing in an atmosphere, not to mention the fact that current science suggests the very building blocks of life, the complex amino acids that we are all made of, came to Earth on comets. But I guess science means nothing to some people.

Even though I'm not a particularly religious person I do recall a line from the Bible that goes something to the effect of "no man may know the date or hour". I interpret this to mean that all the zippy pin heads who think they've got God and the Bible figured out are full of crap. I also take some consolation from my observation that nobody in a position of real authority, including the president, really believes that the world is about to go bye bye.

Which politicians have been saying it's the end of times? I have no problem with politicians believing in the bible; I do too, though I'm not a fanatic about it. I believe there will be an "end of times," too. I just don't think it would be as obvious as this.

People have been wondering if they were in the end times from 1000 A.D. that's not a news flash. I can't believe that you think science explains everything.

i've got self assurance in accordance to the previous testomony, It tells us as quickly as we see Israel substitute right into a rustic(1948), that this could be the final technology until eventually the arriving of Christ. So it relatively is the final days, thrilling. ... understanding this known: that scoffers will are available the final days, strolling in accordance to their very very own lust and saying "the place is the promise of His coming? For via fact the Fathers fell asleep. all issues persevered as from the beginning up of creation." it relatively is not some thought reported from some "faith". this would be a certainty. Revelation and Daniel are 2 books that are paralleled of the destiny yet to return upon Israel and something of the worldwide. How do i comprehend it relatively is the certainty, via fact as I study the scriptures I additionally see a parallel between the worldwide and the scriptures from the previous and New testomony. yet there's a manner out of being in concern of the destiny. via fact the worldwide stands, each individual will stand in the previous God. sure there's a Jugement coming upon the worldwide, it is via sin and the rejection of Jesus the Christ. yet God has made a manner out for each individual in the worldwide. "For God so enjoyed the worldwide that He despatched His in straightforward terms begotten Son, that whoever believes(trusts in, clings to, relyes on), won't perish and yet have eternal life." John 3:sixteen God despatched His Son to be the only to pay the cost of our sins. all in the direction of the previous try. human beings sacrificed animals, to recieve temperary forgivness of their sins; yet now Jesus is the sacrifice for all our sins. Forgiveness from our previous, recent, and destiny sins. Thats large! Jesus says, in the present day is the day of Salvation. we are the two for Him or against Him. Salvation comes via asking Jesus into our hearts, our lives. Salvation comes via believing and needing forgivness of our sins and to alter our minds of any wrongs issues we would be doing. Jesus stands on the door of our hearts and knocks. we've a unfastened will wether to open the door of our hearts or to reject Jesus the Christ. Jesus desires a courting with all people who includes Him. Theres no faith except one makes it into it, it is in straightforward terms some courting with the writer of Heaven and Earth.
