backhands me for no good reason other than back seat driving. Hey, what can I say, I get a bit nervous when she's driving. Do any of you do this? Do your spouses hate it?

My advice to you would be to get on the floor and not watch.
While you are criticizing her driving she is getting mad at you and you are actually increasing the chance you WILL have an accident.
It has to do with the ability to concentrate on what you are doing. When we get mad we loose that concentration and place it elsewhere.
While you think you are helping her not get in trouble you are really placing you both in harms way.
Ask yourself this. How many accidents has she had when she drives alone? If it is zero then get on that floor.

My husband hates when I drive. I hate it worse when he drives. I look at the road. He looks at all the pu***! Need I say more?!! Have a good one!

typical. My ex was a truck driver. Even in the front set. It was a pain. I couldn't do any driving right and I scored better on the test then he did. He drove trucks in the narrow streets in Germany.

This isn't about driving. You need to get a grip, figure out the real problem, and solve it. OR, you've seen the sign, "get in, sit down, buckle up, hang on, and shut up"? Or words to that effect? That's what you need to do.
