Banning religion is not a good idea, but religion must be eradicated.

The only way to do this is to get people to realize that gods are nothing but a myth, an invention of man. And, therefore, religion is a waste of resouces.

A good start down this road would be to eliminate theocratic governments, especially in the middle east. Getting rid of islamic-based governments, as an example, will eliminate islamic terrorism.

This, in turn, will free people of the oppressive yoke of religish dogma, and allow them to think for themselves. Free people, with free minds, don't need the god myth. Ergo, no religion.

I think when something is baned it becomes more attractive to most, religion is the biggest problem which created most of the wars, domestic problems, mental health issues etc... But then again it once served to people. I would say it should be giving to children independently as a history education, showing that all the negative as well as the positive affects of all the religions..

I notice there are a lot of people getting into this banning thing and they are only hurting themselves because each thing that gets banned takes away a right and a freedom we have. The more that is taken away the less we have and soon these people who are involed will find a ban on something they are against but it will be much too late because the people having these rights and freedoms are only as strong as the power it took to get them in the first place. For those who find it a good thing just let me inform you that when you do these bans your giving all the power away to the government.
No I am against banning anything we work and fought hard to get in the first place. learn to live with these rights and freedoms or go find a place where these things do not bother you.

Bad idea. It's taking away freedoms, and when that happens, bad stuff happens. When you have a total theocracy, where one religion is the state, people are punished for practicing other religions, and it's oppressive. When you have total secularism, where the state bans religion completely, people are punished for practicing religion at all, and again, it's oppressive. Bottom line is, all religion = no peace, and no religion = no peace.

And besides, the communists already tried it. It didn't work.

Bad--- there ARE good aspects to religion even if somebody doesn't like it. Besides, why should people tell you how to live your life as long as you aren't hurting them?

And, what you want to be like the commie countries?

Bad, that's precisely what left wing government's want. Totalitarian governments try to get rid of religion because they don't want any higher authority competing with their political dogma.

People should be allowed to practise their religion privately. Organised religion has done enough harm, serves no purpose and should be banned

bad, people take thier religion very seriously. It's been the cause of a number of wars, so I see your point, but forcefully taking it away would just cause chaos and even more wars.
