Hey CityGent - do you think Norm did not like the 80s??

I loved Frankie GTH and Wham (at the time)! I had no idea George was gay - I was so shocked. I have no idea why... as I look back now and think, how could I not notice??!!!

I was 11 at the start of the 80's it was great times for teens! I loved being a new romantic but was always torn between my other eclectic tastes!!

This is sounding like that Billy Joel song, which is also something I love from the 80's:

Billy Idol, Loverboy
Foreigner, and Almond Joy
Jackets with the sleeves pushed up
Leggings with stiletto pumps
Big belts, big hair
Slouch boots and ghetto-wear!

We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it

LOL

I also loved: Depeche Mode, Foreigner, sweatshirts with the collar off one shoulder, shoulder pads, highschool, cheerleading, college, Airplane, Flash Dance, Breakfast Club, Miami Vice, MTV with Nina Blackwood, Jelly Bellies, Ronald Reagan, and moving away from home.

What I hated:
Iran-Contra scandal, hostages in Iran, the assassinations of Anwar Sadat and John Lennon, the space shuttle Challenger tragedy, Loma Prieta fire, AIDS, I smoked, drugs everywhere, MASH went off the air, Cabbage Patch dolls, and puberty

Now theres a question ......
Well in the eighties i was oooooooh twenty ish and working as a DJ. I disliked the hair fashions due to the fact that my hair at the time grew outwards and not down and the fashion being for long hair i looked a real freak !!!
Loved the music which still holds out today although the younger ones hear the cover versions and think its theirs ! that kinda annoys me does it you ? or am i just being old and grumpy.

Oh and i loved the girls in the eighties !
