I bought a new router and the default username (blank) and default password (admin) don't let me log in to the admin account. anyone had this problem with a linksys wrt54gl before? I've also tried 'root' for username.

I've already tried the reset button, but that doesn't help.

FIXED!
I held the button for 10 seconds and it was reset properly that time. i think someone accessed it wirelessly and changed the password soon after I plugged it in for the first time

Try putting just the password (admin), don't put any username...
If all else fails, there's a reset button that you can push/press to reset the router to default settings.

Look up how to do a hard reset that will clear the password.

the default I believe is login: (blank) password: admin
