he sounds pretty dumb to me. You're making the effort to better himself and for you too and he comes up with that cockamamie excuse "You just don't want me around"?
You, my dear, sound as though you can do much better than him. Try again and if he still persists then perhaps it's time to move on. After all....why should you be held back at improving your financial situation because he's being a jerk?

First I sort of wonder why you want to "convince" him of something he is apparently resistant to do. If he is already insecure it sounds like it would be deliberately subjecting your relationship to pitfalls.
If it is only that he would miss you or thinks you do not want him around, then you get a CDL along with him and you can work as a team.
I think it better than "convincing" him to do something he is resistant to, have a frank conversation about your relationship and why he is insecure about it lasting if he is not there. Better to go on the road with him than to push him to opportunities for long hours of imaginings that tend to lead to actions you might regret at a later time.

Well, first of all does your boyfriend want to do that? Just put yourself in his shoes. But the only thing that's going to convince him in the end is him trusting you. Just remind him how you fell about him, tell him on the days that you do come home how amazing it's going to be....;) and it'll make you guys stronger as a couple in the long run.

Get your CDL license and then invite him to go on the road with you as a team. I am a trucker and see many women drivers.

It is a tough one to handle. Do you have any other friends who may potentially become your friends competitor?
Tell him, most of all, prove him that you are there only for him.
But how do you prove.....Love is a tough one to handle
