I offered to let her stay in my home for as long as she needs. She is affraid to break her lease though because she wont have the money if they take her to court. Does anyone have any sugestions? have her talk to the landlord and see if something can be worked out. she might wait until they tell her she has x amount of days to leave and then go but she should talk to them and them and see what they say

She is going to still be responsible for the losses that the landlord has from her breaking the lease. If she breaks the lease, the landlord must make a good faith effort to rent the apartment, but your friend can be held liable for any lost rent, and any costs of cleaning, painting, and advertising.

She may ask the landlord to allow her to break the lease, but she should expect to pay for that privilege

She cant break the lease just because she's pregnant--come on get a grip!

My advice is to try to get someone to take over her lease. Or else she will have to buy herself out of the lease and pay the remaining months left on the lease.
If she didnt have the money why did she resign the lease. What expenses suddenly came up because she was pregnant?

Also if she is so poor most counties offer assistance to unmarried women who are pregnant. Tell her to contact social services.

She has no way out - have her talk to the landlord to try to work out a deal - there is no other option except to declare bankruptcy and that would be the absolute WORST OPTION.
