I thought Americans were proud of their freedoms and amendments? How can the words of these girls affect so many people negatively? They were just words! I don't think it makes them less patriotic, just publicly opinionated.

Outspoken celebs. They have every right to say what they want about the president or whoever. How many of you had a conversation with a friend about your opionion of the president, its not made pulic so does that mean it didnt happen. It's just another excuse to bash celebs and its wrong. Their new song, " I'm not ready to make nice" is awesome and it's the truth.

The Dixie Chicks are the victims of their own ignorance of who their fans were. This was a very unwise business decision. When your country has the treasure of its soldier's blood being spent, you do not run down the President and the war when you are overseas. Too bad they didn't get smart and fix it right away. I don't think they meant to hurt anyone, they just don't really understand patriotism. Natalie Maines said she doesn't understand it. I wish they hadn't spoken out because it took the joy out of listening to them and they are very talented.

They're outspoken celebs. It's good when people speak their minds, as Natalie Maines did when she criticized the President. The Administration needs a couple critics to speak out against it.

I agree with you that they were just words, everyone is allowed to express themselves any way they want. I certainly don't agree with anything they say, but I think they are very talented artists and I love their music. Just look at the song Travelin' Soldier. I think that is very patriotic, or at least it makes me tear up every time I hear it!

both,It's fine to be outspoken here, but when you take it out of the US that's being a traitor. I loved their music but wouldn't waste a penny on them now.

People that stupidly insult/offend their customers then complain that no one is buying their product. The Dixie Chicks had every right to say they don't like Bush and their fans have every right not to like them anymore.

Traitors... they're 'musicians' and I really don't think that being celebrities makes them qualified in any way to open their mouths about politics, nor do I care to hear it from them.

I think all celebs should STFU unless they are talking about making movies or whatever. I don't care about their opinions on anything, especially politics.

They have a right to an opinion like everyone else is in 'America'. To say otherwise would be contradicting your 'freedom of speach'.
