Make a list of all you do and show it to him. Tell him you like your job, but need to have a raise sometimes. Costs of living go up every year - not unreasonable for you to expect more pay also if you're doing a good job.

Do you know the financial situation of your company? If it's not making any money, that might be a reason why your boss has not given you a raise. Did everyone else get a raise? It's possible that your pay is a lot higher than average. Do some research.
But if you're being left out, approach your boss, but be prepared. List down your strengths, contribution to the company, how the company has benefitted from your work, etc. This you have to communicate to your boss. And list down as well the negatives, in case he brings them up.
In the meantime, look around at what's available out there: monster.com, hotjobs.com, etc.

I would approach your boss with a list of your accomplishments and your duties and explain to them that based on this you think you deserve a raise, be prepared to negotiate and have a reasonable amount in your head that you want...I doubt he would give you a 50% raise but you may be able to get 10%. Find out what other people with your responsibilities make to use as leverage...this may also help you find out what you deserve a raise or not. Start looking for another job but this can be used as leverage. If you are as valuable as you say then it should be easy to get a raise. Don't be confrontational, but be up front and honest. Don't burn your bridges either no matter how good it would make you feel...nothing would be worse than to have to come crawling back and begging for your old job and it always pays to keep contacts.

You should not have to ask for a raise if you are good enough then when you are ready the boss will give you a raise on your review. I have worked on commission for the past several years, and when I want a raise my boss just tells me to work harder. You might try that, and as I said before if you deserve it, you will get it.

You may want to check your performance in the company by asking fellow employees to fill out a performance history on you (in their opinions). If you feel that the feedback is positive in your respect, then a request for a raise can be submitted with the use of your fellow employees performance "audit". If your boss still refuses to give you a raise, then the only thing left to say to him is "Goodbye".

"I am leaving if you do not immediately promote me/increase my pay by at least 25%" and see what they say. Have a back-up job ready in case they tell you to walk. Chances are though, they will give you the promotion or raise. Good luck.
