I mean seriously, the man is a notorious drunk, he was having an affair like a good Kennedy, he drove his car off a bridge, did I mention he was drunk as usual, he swam to safety and let the woman with him drown. He wasn't ever tried or held accountable(because of course, he's a Kennedy), and the people from MASS. continue to elect him as their Senator. What has he done to improve anything in all the years he has been in office? He's a drunk, who at the least should have been charged with vehicular manslaughter or driving under the influence, something. Anyway I think the only intelligent thing I've ever seen him do is NOT run for President, thereby managing to stay alive this long.

Thanks for the concern mthtchr05, but I'm a pretty tough gal, besides, I really feel like the Kennedy's have gotten away with an awful lot of stuff that the rest of us poor old slobs just couldn't do. I had a doctor who was from Mass. working in a little rural hospital here in MS who would call Bush an animal everytime he saw him in the papers or on television. He was here doing his penenance work for the govt. putting him through school. He was a real bleeding heart lib. who really felt so strongly about all the poverty in MS and how honored he was to be able to come here and serve. HA HA. He paid his dues the end of May 2006, and he quit his job with the clinic here the first week of June, guess where he is, back home in TEDDY'S state working at Boston MASS. Gee guess your good ole liberal bleeding heart do-gooder feelings only last just so long.

Federal funding? Who got the funding for that fiasco "the big dig"? I went to Boston once (that was enough) you have people in boxes in the subways and ya'll are digging a big hole in the middle of the city. You need a newbie in the senate.

Personally I think it's something in the Clam Chowder. Its filled with a mind control drug that makes you bad at constructing tunnels, predesposed to vote for the guy and gives you that damn accent!

Chappaquiddick is why he decided not to run for president in the last 30 years. It was definitely a cowardly act on his behalf, yet as far as his work in the US Senate he has been effective. Why would Massachusetts want to lose a powerful Senator like Kennedy? If Massachusetts elects a newbie Senator, the state would lose a lot of clout that Kennedy still has in Washington D.C. If a state loses a lot of clout, it loses a lot of federal funding for projects like the Boston Tunnel. Sure Kennedy did the wrong action over 30 years ago, but why should everyone in Massachusetts suffer if he stepped down over the incident.. And sure Kennedy is a die in the wool Liberal, yet our country needs balance to maintain our democracy and not fall into a one party rule dictatorship.

Georgie Porgie led Texas to the worst deficit in history and now the US (your words) and the people from Texas continued to elect him.
What has he done to improve anything in all the years he has been in office? Nothing, well wait a minute... he has taught us how to look people in the eye and lie.

Well, why does everyone keep bring that up? The girl was too drunk to swim! Besides, Laura Bush (GW's wife) also had a drunk driving accisent and killed a man -- yet that one doesn't seem to matter to people! Why is hers OK, and Kennedy's is not? (and no -- I am not a Kennedy fan...)

I don't know, but if memory serves me, he actually did run for President once, in 1980. Couldn't beat the incumbent Carter in the primaries though.
