What are some good conversation starters on the phone when theres that uncomfortable silence?

Me and my boyfriend usually spend an hour or 2 on the phone but theres sometimes that moment of silence. My boyfriend is a wonderful guy and I love to talk to him and he loves to talk to me, but we run out of things to say sometimes. I dont get to see him that much since both of us dont have our licenses yet, so I value our time on the phone. So how to I break the silence? What are the best conversation starters? How do I keep me and him talking for about 2 hours?

When this happens to me, I make a joke about it, such as saying, "I like the way you breathe." Not terribly funny, but it helps. There's nothing wrong with a few moments of silence--if you were face to face you would have that occasionally, too. Also, maybe two hours is too long to spend on the phone, because all you can do is talk (no touching, not seeing each other's expression, etc.). If nothing else, ask leading questions so he'll have a chance to express his views.

i love your spelling of awkward! Very ingenious. don't be frightened of small talk. Play a touch pastime of "I spy"--in basic terms go searching and remark on stuff. somewhat, don't be too profound--you'll rigidity your self out in case you attempt to be sensible once you won't be able to imagine of something. i replaced into once trapped in a waiting room for, like, 2 one million/2 hours with purely vintage magazines for leisure (yuck. There wasn't a lot to love in those magazines.) yet i chanced on some issues i presumed were thrilling, like some artwork of George Washington that were being auctioned off, starting up at like, 15 million money. So I pointed them out, talked a touch, and it helped smash the rigidity between all us waiting round. If it begins a communication, experience free to appear like a dork or a fool. Lame is positive if it receives people talking.
