The pay can be anywhere from 35,000 and above. You can get an associate degree in 2 years and sit for the board. The hours are terrible, the stress is high, doctors are mean and nurses "eat their young" They are some of the most gossiping, backstabbing people I have ever known and R.N.s are resented by the aides and LPN's I would recommend another field.

Well you have to ask yourself why you want to become an RN? If you have a good sense for helping people then this is a good job for you. I would start out as a Certified nursing assistant to see if this field is for you. I am in a BSN program and will graduate this fall and it is hard work, but very rewarding. Getting into nursing school is also very competitive so take a lot of science and math courses, it will benefit you in college. Your first 2 years of college will be pre reqs and then you will apply for entrance into the nursing program. To get in you usually need around a 3.5 GPA depending on the school, some higher and some lower depending on number of applicants and slots available. RN's from what I seen start anywhere for 18.00 to 30.00 an hour depends on your location and where you work. You can also get your Associate degree Nursing at community college, but If you wanted to become Nurse Practitioner or other MSN programs you will need your Bachelors degree first so it is best to go the BSN route.
Good luck

No not easier. You can become a Nurse Praticioner which is almost the same as a doctor in less time except without the pay of a doctor. Yes it sort of help you because you have the clinical and experience but its not going to help you achieve the goal any faster.
