There is the naval basic training base just north of Chicago which is probably closer than Scott AFB just east of East St. Louis. Double check with Rand McNally.

Probably Scott Airforce Base in Mascoutah, IL.
It's closer to St. Louis than Peoria, but other than Great Lakes Naval base in North Chicago or Rock Island Armory...that's about it.
We used to have more, but they're all closed down now.
