Ahoy Hoy Fans.

Ok, question is mainly to fellow Brits, but anyone else is happily welcome to reply.

My question is simple. With the current debacle about the Natwest Three raging in the British Media, with allegations of Blair being a Poodler to America, do any other fellow Brits believe we're becoming spineless to the Yanks? Havn't we been like this since the Cold War, and Thatcher?

To Americans, do you see us as a nation that will follow you in everything, or would you prefer us to be a friendly nation who is capable of arguing back at you, in the spirirt of friendly disagreement?

I would like us to be the 2nd description..... I think we should challenge the US on some of their decisions, not to not support them, but to make sure that they are thinking about things... just like we should be challenged....

Britain has always been a nation to stand up for what is right, and I think we've lost an element of that....

A well educated colleague was saying that because we did not enter the Vietnam conflict, the US placed trade sanctions against us which caused a recession.

As much as I don't like Blair, I do wonder if he was blackmailed into the war by the ever bullying US. They do seem to have a God complex. It makes me think of the Nazi's (among others,) idea of God's chosen people, so do what the hell we like.

I do not agree;if you are referring to "New Labour" and their policies;then Yes

If the Nat West Three were Asian and Muslim the PMs wife would have leapt into action and cut off Tones conjugal rights till they were released with compensation.

Blair is worse than useless, and it isn't just the US, he's spineless "negotiating" with the EU as well.
The US has had too much influence since the end of WWII but if we didn't support them they'd just ignore us anyway.
Hopefully he'll get the boot soon and we'll get someone who isn't quite so muppet-like.

Sadly we are just another state of America. Soon anyone who claims to dislike Americans will be deported and jailed. Blair is just Bush's b1tch.
