My daughter is 7 months old and the main staple of her diet is still formula. However, we have added some oatmeal baby cereal, plus jar fruit and vegetables, but she doesn't eat much (about 4 spoonfuls of fruit and 4 spoonfuls of vegetable and about 2 tablespoons of cereal) throughout the day. However, there are 7 month olds who eat jarfuls per meal and have started on finger foods (cheerios, yogurt, pastina, boiled carrots, etc.) it really depends on where your daughter is developmentally and what foods she is ready for. Good luck!

my daughter is 7 months and still nurses and eats Stage 1 and 2 foods along with mixed grain cereal. I found the Gerber fruit puffs are wonderful first finger foods...they dissolve in babys mouth so there isn't the danger if choking (like on cheerios or bread cubes) and although they are sticky, they're the perfect size and shape for baby to pick up and learn to feed themself.

My daughter is 9 months old and at 5 months she was eatign reagular food. you can give her cheetos for a snack. if she can open her mouth for a spoon then get her some baby cereal and some gerber apple juice and stir it up. it will fill her up well. then you can also get the vegetables baby food and do the same thing. you can get her some mashed potatoes and gravy and feed it to her.

1) Breast milk/formula
2) infant rice or oatmeal cereals (see Gerber),
3) Stage 1 or 2 infant food of vegetables and fruit.

Start on the cereals first, then introduce new veggies every 4 days (to isolate any potential allergies), then introduce fruits (every 4 days). Also talk to your pediatrician to get a meal plan from them.

Finger foods such as cheerios, small pieces of dry toast, vegetables that have been cooked until soft but can be held in her hand, chunkier baby foods (stage 3), rice cakes, small cubes of cheese, small pieces of noodles and pasta (well cooked), tofu, mashed potatoes.... :)
I would stay away from anything with a lot of salt/sugar in it... someone above suggested cheetos, and that I would NOT recommend because of the high sodium content.

According to most doctors, formula and baby food. They don't want you to give babies food from the table because of the added salts, sugars, etc. But, I fed my children from the table and they grew up healthy. I would advise a call to your pediatrician for the correct answer, however.

Breast milk. It is the most healthy and the most easily digested. It will make your baby smarter, stronger and healthier. You will want to start introducing solids, so pick things that will help her in teething.

If she has teeth start her on fingerfoods. Peel the skin from hot dogs and fruit, less chance for choking!
