Yes, it is more a maturity thing... how mature are you to care for them correctly. Age is not a factor.

i think you have to be at least 10 or 11. you can use them when you're 12 or 13. I'm 13 and I've used them for a year already.

I got mine when I was 12 1/2.
When you are responsible enough to handle the cleaning & disinfection they require, you're old enough to get contacts. Your parents and your eye doctor will help you figure out when you are old enough.
It is very important that you follow the rules for keeping your contacts clean and disinfected. If you don't, you can get an eye infection or injury that could seriously damage your eyesight. If you got an infection or injury, at the very least, you'd be stuck wearing ugly glasses till your eyes healed, and your eyes would be all bloodshot and ugly, maybe oozing, while they healed.
Glasses without an injury or infection are way better looking than glasses because you hurt your eyes and can't wear contacts anymore!

when ever you feel you are ready to wear them. As long as you can clean and disinfect them yourself then you will be fine. In terms of your eyes being okay with them, contacts are often given to premature babies, so i think by 12 you would be fine! I have had mine since i was 11 1/2 and there great!

Yeah. As long as you can control your hands and stuff. Plus the eye doctor usually teaches you the correct way to put them on.

yeah my friend got them in 5th grade as long as ur able to put them in and ur mom tells u its ok then its ok

i think 12 may be a little too young. you have to be careful, clean them properly and change them often depending on what kind you have. i was 17 when i got mine...
