when it was full of people? I am not asking cause I wish it was or anything I am just wondering what was their thinking, why didn' they want to kill more people? Do you think they just wanted to send a message? Why did they bomb us in the first place?

terrorists do things usually to get a message across, and they really wanted to get one since they did both towers, PA,and the Pentagon

there is actually alot of questions like this regarding 9/11. For instance, The plane that flew into the North tower, actually flew over the largest nuclear power plant in the northeast enrout to the WTC. had the terrorists decided to crash the plane there, the lives lost could have been in the hundreds of thousands and a good portion of the Northeast would have been uninhabitable for decades. However, the terrorists had a specific mission to deliver a precise message. they targeted the heart our financial district so the power plant was ne ver even considered by them. plus the plan they had relied heavily on the airline schedule and the fact that the plan was much more likely to be successful in the early morning hours than later in the day. Had teh plane from Logan airport been scheduled for takeoff an hour later, the towers would have been full and more people would have died, but the terrorists didn't have the luxury of waiting for later flights since this was a multi-fold attack relying on big planes carrying alot of fuel (namely cross country flights) being in the ai simultanously.

Truly, I believe it was because they wanted those specific jets from the airport. There is no delay when they are the first flights in the morning so they would all be synchronized as part of their plan. Plus, the flights that they chose were flights that were across country so they were filled with fuel. You typically get those flights on time early in the morning. There is no way that they just wanted to send JUST a message as though you suggest! I believe we received the message loud and clear. I also believe that they killed enough people. Enough is enough.

Even the terrorists know that if the United States EVER feels it is truly fighting for it's own survival....it will be a no holds barred war....The terrorists just wanted to give the US a black eye..if they had killed the potential 10's of thousands of people that could have been in those buildings...I think there would be a new parking lot in the Middle East by now.....

What do you mean when it was not busy? I think that the thousands dead was busy enough, plus the millions of dollars in damage. As far as the more dead question, if they had a nuke, you can bet they would have used that instead. They bombed us because we are a democracy, and America is the land of the free. We can choose our religion and our leaders. They hate us because we are not like them, and that makes us infidels. In their Quran, it tells them to kill the infidel. That is why they attacked us, and why they will keep trying to kill innocent people all over the world. You cannot reason with such blind hate.

Maybe because they had to get past the radar and there are a lot of flights coming and going in the morning?? I have no idea. They probably just wanted to send a message. They bombed us because they think they are better than us and everybody hates us.

It happened right around 9am EST. This is during business hours and at a time when most of the people that are coming in for the day are already there. Except for the levels that were hit and the ones in the floors above, there was quite a bit of time for the ones in the lower levels to evacuate.

Hmmm... I'm guessing they had to take the airplane schedule into consideration. Its not like they could just go to the airport and steal a plane like its a car. They had to get a flight. And, it was during business hours... so there were plenty of people in the buildings. Remember, thousands of people lost their lives that day. Its not like it was just 3 of them.

I think it had to do with the flights. Early morning cross country flights have less people on them and more fuel. If the planes they used were not loaded with fuel the towers might still be standing.

I actually noticed that they did it during rush hour, like around 8 am or so, when people were trying to get to work. I think they were trying to time it to hit at 9:11 am on 9/11 but got anxious.

Ok, I've read the question and all the answers so far and I just have one question.....what bomb? I thought they used airplanes. No wonder our history books are so screwed up. Noone can remember anything from one Pokemon episode to another.
