yeah that makes a lot of sense...
let's see if I get this right...make those scumbags work extra hard to earn the right to live here in a place where people like you were born and totaly take your liberties and opportunities for granted. Yeah, I see the logic there.
Most of these people would make better Americans then a lot of the Americans born here because they know what the alternative is like.
It makes much MORE sense to get these people into the workforce ASAP and collect tax dollars from them. Face it, the community service idea sucks because these people mostly lack the education and skills to do more than make ends meet. They must work pretty hard to elivate themselves and provide. Take away time from them with a community service requirement and you put them in more hardship. I would prefer that complacent 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc... generation Americans do community service or do peace corps in the 3rd world. I bet they would all come back a little humbled and appreciative of the opportunities that so many died to provide for them!

Community sevice? And live of what? Satisfaction? Have you ever seen how hard immigrants work?
My father worked in Texas several years ago as an illegal, and he worked about 15 hours a day, and he had a relatively good office job, $11 an hour. So, how many hours do you think an illegal immigrant works every day in the fields, constructions, yards, factories, etc? You think they have any time to do community service? They need the money they earn with all that work!
Besides, US economy gets enough profit from all of them already since they are very good workers that work for less money than US citizens.

Why can't they be deported, we know where they are.
They would have to do years of community service, because they broke the law and continued to break it by staying here illegally. If they have to do community service. It should be an hour a day for each day they were here illegally in the U.S. because for each of these days they were breaking the law. And, they should still have to pay a fine and have intense background checks.

I think that they should be screened and the ones that are truely criminals should be deported, plus the ones that work as illegals they get taxes deducted from their checks and cant apply for refunds, where do you think that money is going? Irak? also the ones employing illegals should pay for that right? mostly white american contractors mm... maybe we should really help the true Americans instead of leaving them in reservations and giving them permits to built Casinos, yes the native americans and the true americans.

Most countries in the world will deport them.... But if you can't shoot them community service and prison will be a good start.

For some I.A.'s, community service would be a tremendous improvement over what they are currently doing, & that is any & everything, like digging ditches or shoveling crap or any other dirty job, that needs doing. and they are exploited by unethical employers that don't even pay them a "minimum wage". They are paid pennies for something that you or I wouldn't even consider doing , even for minimum wage ! So doing community service for some I.A.'s while waiting for a decent employer to offer them $3 an hour , while they are trying to earn citizenship & improve the quality of their life , would be heaven.

That's just it. They "CAN" be deported. The best community service they can provide is to stay in their home countries once they've been kicked out of ours.

I agree, they should be required to provide some for of restitution, be it service or monetary, dependant upon the length of time that they have been in this country illegally. Assuming that they have an otherwise clean record, in which case if their parent coutry wants them to live, then they should pay for their prison and health costs.

That's fine, but are you going to take over on their job picking
grapes, and all the other Fruits and Vegetables? I'm Mexican/
American and so is my Parents and Family. And I understand
That the law is the law and what ever needs to be done then do .
But like I said Someone needs to take over their job. I sudgest
the Homeless take over they need the money. This way they have money to have a place and to buy them something to eat.
And they will stop begging (pan Handling) us for money.
