Please don't tell me that Mexico is a sovereign nation. Hah.....Ha Hah. Let's see, Ford, General Motors, the appliance industry (ex. Whirlpool), the television industry (Zenith), I can go on and on. What do they bring over here for our citizens to gain respectable employment? Nada......Eat my shorts, just keep the girls hot and the Corona cold...!!!

Dude, you are seriously twisted. I like that.

Years ago we began looking at GNP (Gross National Product) in addition to GDP (Gross Domestic Product). One refers to products produced within your borders, the other refers to products produced by your country's firms.

By your logic, some one else owns the US. BMW (South Carolina), Toyota (Tennesse), Hyundai, Honda, Mercedes (Alabama), Nissan (Mississippi) are all turning out products in the good old USA. Are we a soverign nation?

Ford and GM assemble some products in Canada. I don't want to own Canada. If we have to take Mexico, we have to take them too. Let me see...Molson or Corona? Do I have to make the choice for you?

O.K. its true, we did buy Mexico.

Actually, we got it for free when we entered into the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. It was like a package deal: we wanted the LP but the French were totally screwing us, so they said, well, we will throw in this useless land in the south too, and you Americans can lease it back to them (the Mexicans) in exchange for a lifetime guarantee of cheap labor. It was a pretty good deal.

As for Mexico’s economy, well, if we actually ran it, it would be doing a hell of a lot better.

Why would Mexico's economy suck so bad if we controlled it? I mean, I can understand a little suppression to keep the money for ourselves, but there comes a point when you're just hurting yourself.

My reply is no.
