You probably have a little tendonitis from repetitive use of the muscles in your forearm and hands. Continue stretching, and rest your hands. Start light hand strength and grip exercises (exercise squishy balls, or the grip exercisers) to build up strength in those muscles. It will take a while to recover (some people who insist on using their arms when they have tennis elbow take up to six months to heal up, even with physical therapy) Next time you're at the doctor's office for a checkup, ask if there's anything else he/she can recommend; you might get referred for physical therapy if it's bad enough.

Probably not carpal tunnel but get it checked out. CT almost always has tingling in the thumb and index finger. You probably just strained your wrist ligaments similar to pulling a muscle. I play guitar myself and had similar problems when I wrote a repeating riff that we jammed over for like 10 minutes. Killed me for about a week. Try taking a week off and see if it gets better. Also try taking some aspirin or ibuprophen. Stretch your wrists before, during, and after play. You should be okay.

This could be carpal tunnel, even without the tingling. It could also be a form of arthritis, maybe osteo or rheumatoid (I have both). The symptoms for arthritis tend to show up in areas with small joints first, like the hands and feet. I suggest speaking with your doctor first and perhaps getting a referral to a specialist, like a rheumatologist (doctor who works with all forms of arthritis).

Good luck!

It could be carpal tunnel, and it could be arthritis. But, unless you go see a doctor, and have x-rays, you may never know. I had carpal tunnel, and this is how I was, and I had carpal tunnel surgery, which was NOT effective. It did NOTHING for me. I also have arthritis, and drop a lot of things.

talk to your doctor right away. could be carpal tunnel...could also be other things...arthritis, muscle fatigue, worst case scenarios include MS or other degenerative conditions (but not likely)- again see your doctor. also go to your pharmacist and ask about wrist guards. if you sleep with the guards on it can help tremendously
