I'm 13. Had it for about 4 months. Happened twice, then no more up until now ;)

Have you had sex in the past two months? You could be pregnant. If not, then it's just irregular. No worries.

If you've only recently started your period, you could just be really irregular. Until your body is used to it, and since you've only recently started, you shouldn't expect it to easily "jump into the correct cycle" and your cycle can be all over the place for a while.
Things like lack of nutrition, being underweight or overweight, or even being really stressed out can also have an effect on your cycle. If you add all this to the fact that you've only recently gotten your period, you shouldn't be surprised that you're irregular.
Birth Control is a nice way to get your period regular, but you're a little young and since you've only just started you may want to wait a little bit until your body is more used to your 'woman-hood'.

You didn't state how old you are.
If you are young and relatively "new" to having periods then it isn't unusual to skip a period or two until your body adjusts to the changes it is going through and settles down to what would be considered your "normal" cycle.
Stress can cause irregular periods as well as being highly active in sports. There are other outside influences like this that can cause this kind of problem as well as other medical reasons.
If you miss one more I would suggest you go to your Ob-Gyn for an examination to determine the cause of the problem. It's better to be safe than sorry later for not going and having it checked out. If it is something serious you want to catch it as early as possible and get it taken care of.
Good luck and don't worry yourself about it, just have yourself checked out, okay?

I don't know how young/old you are, but many young girls go through spells of being very irregular (with that being said)... it still isn't normal, and you should go see your doctor to make sure it's not just something you are going through. If you are older, menapause could be setting in. Loosing lots of weight quickly can cause it. Also, extreme amounts of exercise can cause it. No matter whether it is just excerise, weight lose, or not having a regular schedule yet, you need to be checked. Better safe than sorry!

dont worry hon. i've had the same experience when i first started i think i was 14 or 15 and i started in a october and the next time i had it it was in march. it was very irregular for the first 3 times i had its now comes once a month. And i wasn't sexually active either still aren't. so its normal and it seems like your young. you should ask your mother these things she knows better than we do because you have her genes. dont worry u are NOT pregnant! and you dont want to have your period. trust me relax and go swimming! you dont have to go to your doctor dont worry. you should only go if its something around a year and a half.

Are you athletic? When i went through Basic Training a lot of girls didnt have their periods because of stress and an increase in excercise. Also when i was in high school i was muscular from sports and didnt have a regular period. You're young and its normal, if it persists and it really bothers you and ofcourse when your older consider seeing a gyno and getting on birth control. Right now just enjoy not worrying about periods every month :)

If you have had sex, you could be pregnant. Yes, you could be irregular, but I would seek the advice of a doctor just in case. Better to check it out. Never know.

You should go see a doctor some girls have irregular periods and need to be put on birth control pills to regulate them. You dont need to be having sex to be put on the pill either it is just to regulate your period.

Depends. If you're having sex, you could of course be pregnant. If you're relatively young and have been menstruating for less than a year then this is totally normal. Don't rush it and it'll come back around when it "feels like it". If you still have questions, take a trip to your gynecologist.
